Telemedicor Solutions: Medicases

Axis 2 of the Telemedicor Solutions includes mobile
diagnostic stations (Medicases), addressed to doctors,
diagnostic clinics, ships, airplanes, emergency response
units etc. They allow multiple medical check-ups and
two-way video communication. These medical devices are
fully automated diagnostic laboratories, capable of
performing up to 13 medical tests and they are placed
inside a small, light suitcase (approximately 7kg),
specially configured for the task. These devices process
and transmit the patient’s test results to the
Telemedicor Platform.
There are three ways to utilise a Telemedicor Medicase:
-
As a mobile, or fixed, diagnostic station in remote
areas, where no trained medical personnel is
available. In this instance, Medicase transmits
medical data either to the attendant doctor or to
specialists in hospitals for online evaluation and
further instructions.
-
As a mobile diagnostic station in emergency
situations, disaster zones, epidemics areas and
armed conflict zones for the use of rescue teams,
field hospitals and medical crews. In these
instances, Medicase transmits patient’s medical data
to specialist doctors in hospitals for online
evaluation and instructions.
-
As a mobile, or fixed, diagnostic station inside the
doctor’s practice or during house visits. In these
instances, the doctor can acquire immediate
diagnostic data without the need to send patients to
diagnostic centres.
Medicase application areas

Medicases' main application areas are:
-
in remote areas, where there are no diagnostic
laboratories or specialised medical personnel or
where there are frequent medical emergencies (e.g.
ski resorts, stadiums etc.);
-
in long distance transportation (trains, ships,
airplanes);
-
in areas where epidemics emerge;
-
as diagnostic equipment of doctors either in their
practices or during house calls;
-
as diagnostic equipment for emergency response teams
and disaster relief teams;
-
as emergency diagnostic equipment for ambulances and
ambulance helicopters; and
-
as diagnostic equipment for military units and field
hospitals.
At the present, Telemedicor System offers two versions
of the Medicase: The first is a general purpose model
(Erophilos), in a suitcase marked by the Telemedicor
Logo and the required indications for medical equipment.
The second is a military application model in a
shock-proof shell (Telemachos).
Connecting from anywhere in the world
Medicase devices can connect to the Telemedicor Platform
from anywhere in the World through any communications
technology available at that location. Options include:
Connecting the Medicase devices to the Telemedicor
Platform is enabled through the built-in Tablet PC which
has a GMS port for a GPRS connection. |
